About Research + Creative Practice

NICREADH

Research and creative work concerned with anomalous experience, consciousness, history, ritual and place.

NICREADH is the research and creative practice of Nic Readh.

The work moves between anomalous experience, consciousness, historical research, ritual, place and creative practice, with particular interest in the point at which personal experience, documentary evidence and interpretation intersect.

Current research includes a longitudinal investigation of lucid dreaming, sleep-transition phenomena and apparent out-of-body experience, alongside historical and eyewitness research concerning the Leap Castle Elemental in Ireland.

The broader practice draws on long-term interests in anomalous phenomena, historical places, symbolism, consciousness and altered states, together with a background in teaching, public presentation, music and creative development.

NICREADH does not begin from a predetermined requirement to prove or dismiss unusual experiences. The emphasis is on preserving records, distinguishing observation from interpretation, identifying contradictions, testing where possible, and allowing unresolved material to remain unresolved.
